The last day to submit work for the IV Harambee International Award,
a competition for TV documentaries and video clips by students that communicate a positive view about African culture and challenge the silence and stereotypes, was October 8th, 2010.
The objective of the award, sponsored by the Municipality of Rome and Lottomatica Spa, is to spread an image of the African continent that overcomes the most common stereotypes by awarding students who have created TV documentaries and video clips that reflect a positive image of Africa.
The award ceremony will be held on November 12th, 2010 at the Protomoteca Hall at the Campidoglio in Rome at 10 a.m. A conference will be held in occasion of the event entitled, “Culture and Art in Africa Today”, with the participation of intellectuals from Africa and other parts of the world.
