6 October 2021: Harambee Enters the Twentieth Anniversary of its Foundation.

The Association was founded in Rome in 2002, on the occasion of the canonisation of Josemaría Escrivá, founder of Opus Dei. The idea of the founders was to give back the gift received by committing themselves to enhance the potential of the different realities of sub-Saharan Africa. Since then, thanks to the contributions collected, we have carried out more than 80 projects focused on the education and training of people in about 20 sub-Saharan countries. National committees have been set up in Spain, Portugal, France, Poland, Switzerland, Luxembourg and the United States. The delegates in the various African countries accompany us, helping to direct our action so that it always corresponds to local needs; a cultural committee composed of authoritative cultural and civil society representatives of different African nationalities helps us to contribute to the dissemination of more correct and in-depth information on the Continent. Many different initiatives have been carried out over the years and, deeply grateful for the results achieved, we go on with the same initial enthusiasm towards new and exciting goals.
