Cameroon. More than 200 vulnerable children are ready for school, thanks to a collaboration between the Ndichia Foundation and Harambee.

206 vulnerable children in the North-West regions of Cameroon are prepared to face the 2023-2024 school year, thanks to a project carried out by the Ndichia Foundation with the support of Harambee. Ndichia is dedicated to promoting holistic education for children who have never had the opportunity to attend school. The ongoing armed conflict has hindered children's enrollment in official schools; many have lost essential personal documents or the parents they would depend on for assistance. Left to fend for themselves, minors easily fall prey to criminal activities, prostitution, and drug abuse. Among the most urgent needs, Ndichia has identified a personalized path to enable children to access formal schools. Thanks to the fundraising campaign promoted by Harambee, courses were held regularly, and essential educational materials were provided for the current school year. "The generosity of those who have lent us a hand should inspire you to commit even more to your studies and cultivate values such as respect, honesty, understanding, integrity, and altruism," said Father Anthony Ndang, head of the Ndichia Foundation, to the students during the ceremony for the distribution of materials such as books, pens, pencils, rulers, and sharpeners. The 2023-2024 school year represents a new hope for these young individuals, who can now look to the future with confidence. Furthermore, this initiative not only enhances education but also provides essential psychosocial support to the victims of the ongoing crisis in the North-West and South-West regions of Cameroon. Keeping a child in school is an important step in creating a better future, and the Ndichia Foundation and Harambee Africa International continue to work together to ensure that this opportunity reaches as many children as possible.
